Evaluation systems and procedures in research funding | more…

Sound knowledge of the principles and basic procedures in research funding is advantageous for the evaluation of proposals as reviewer as well as for writing a proposal as applicant. The participants of this seminar gain an overview of the diverse evaluation and application systems in research funding. They gain insight, also behind the scenes, into the so called ‚Normalverfahren` of project proposals and its modifications, the allocation procedures of fellowship applications up to the multiphase evaluation systems for priority programs and research initiatives.

Evaluation of proposals | more..

The meaningful evaluation of proposals as well as the effective attraction of research funding is major basis for success in science. We conduct this workshop for funding institutions and research organizations with funding programs that provide anonymized proposals for the workshop. Under professional guidance and with professional feedback the participants evaluate during the workshop proposals as examples that have been selected by the workshop lecturer and the contracting authority. The participants get insight into the principles of research funding and in evaluation procedures. They reflect their role as reviewer and work out principles of good scientific praxis. The knowledge gained in this workshop supports our participants as reviewer of national and international proposals. By the change in perspective they also get insight into the strengths and weaknesses of proposals that will help them in return when writing their own proposals.
